Over the past 30 years, the appearance of this legendary place has changed significantly — losing its original character. In this project, we proposed returning to the pure, original vision of Soviet constructivism created by architect Mark Pavlov.Zelenyi Bazar reconstruction project focuses on a sensitive renewal of one of Almaty’s most significant public spaces — while preserving its identity. Zelenyi Bazar is not only a marketplace, but also an important cultural and social phenomenon. The new concept aims to enhance this role, making the area more open, welcoming, and contemporary.The goal of the project is to integrate the bazaar into the urban fabric, activate the surrounding public spaces, create new scenarios for visiting, and restore respect for this historic site through architecture, landscaping, and cultural references.
