about the project

Svet is a restaurant housed in a building designed in the last century by architect Levinson. The project continues the story of a place once inhabited by great writers Mukhtar Auezov and Konstantin Paustovsky. Here, architecture meets art, creating a space suffused with light, shadow, and profound meaning. The design is built on a delicate balance between reverence for history and contemporary aesthetic expression. Natural stone, warm textures, and a subtle play of light emphasize the spaces understated elegance. The interior features bespoke art objects that evoke an atmosphere of intellectual depth and refinement. The layout is divided into several zones, each offering its own rhythm and pace. The main hall is finished in soft, natural tones, accented by textured art installations and custom lighting fixtures. Light partitions and textile elements create a sense of intimacy while preserving spatial openness. The name Svet meaning light captures the core concept: here, light becomes the material from which atmosphere is shaped. Architectural lighting, gentle highlights on stone, and the glow of sculptural compositions make the space feel alive, fluid, and emotionally resonant.Every detail has been carefully considered from the graphic silhouettes of the furniture to the artistic treatment of the walls. The central art installation, composed of luminous figures, alludes to light as a symbol of knowledge, inspiration, and creativity.
